The key focus area of JUST PEOPLE NOW, INC. (JPN) remains the support of at-risk children and their families.
The Summer Youth Program (SYP) continued with a 5-day program where attendance was up by 20% over the previous year. Campers and volunteers enjoyed an additional field trip to the Hickory Racetrack where over 30 youth and staff were treated to a once-in-a lifetime experience of walking the curvy racetrack and enjoying a tailgate cookout in the NASCAR Car 18 pit, all sponsored by NASCAR’S David Roberts and Harry Stone, longtime supporters of SYP programs.
Additionally, campers were afforded the opportunity to meet and ask questions of one of the industry’s upcoming women race car drivers. What a treat it was for aspiring young women who want to enter the highly dominated male career arena!
